Clarity grading is determined by the number of inclusions and their visibility. These inclusions are scratches, markings, clouding or minerals. Diamonds with less inclusions have an increased amount of brilliance. Inspection is performed under 10x magnification.
| FL, IF | Flawless, Internally Flawless | Diamonds with this grade have no inclusions or blemishes. These are extremely rare diamonds. |
| VVS1, VVS2 | Very, Very Slightly Included | Diamonds with this grade have tiny inclusions that are difficult to see under 10x magnification. These are rare diamonds. |
| VS1, VS2 | Very Slightly Included | Diamonds with this grade will have small inclusions that are visable with difficulty under 10x magnification but not to the unaided eye. |
| SI1, SI2 | Slightly Included | Diamonds with this grade have small inclusions that are easily seen under 10x magnification. |
| I1, I2, I3 | Included | Diamonds with this grade have numerous or large inclusions that are easily seen under 10x magnification and may also be visible to the unaided eye. |
